DUPONT TYLER MIDDLE SCHOOL BANDS
The band program at Dupont Tyler Middle School serves over 250 students in grades 5-8. The seventh and eighth grade advanced bands have proven to be one of the best middle school bands in Tennessee and surrounding areas. They have received consistent superior ratings at concert festivals in Nashville, Atlanta, Louisville, Cincinnati and
St. Louis.
The directors, Kathy Ganus and Matt Taylor, have over 40 years combined teaching experience. They have their masters degrees and are members of the local band directors association, MTSBOA as well as MENC, TMEA, and the National Bandmasters Association.
The Dupont-Tyler Middle School Band is the largest feeder to the McGavock High School Band, who is noted as one of the top ten band programs in the country.
Musical training is a more potent
instrument than any other for education,
because rhythm and harmony find their
way into the inward places of the soul.
