The mission of DuPont Tyler Middle School is to provide diverse learning experiences in a safe and orderly environment for the purpose of improved student learning across the curriculum. We believe a safe, orderly, comfortable environment promotes our foundational policy of student learning. Our school-wide discipline plan was developed to help us achieve our mission and goal of academic success for all of our students.
DuPont Tyler Middle School Discipline Plan
School-wide Discipline:
In an effort to comply with the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools Strategic Plan, which addresses a safe and orderly environment, DuPont Tyler Middle School will implement a School-wide Discipline Plan.
District’s Expectation for Positive Student Behavior:
DuPont Tyler Middle School will provide a school-wide discipline plan to each Area Director by the 2nd week of August annually. It is expected for the Discipline Committee to convene twice during the school year at the end of each semester to review and revise the school plan as needed.
DuPont Tyler Expectations:
The school staff will:
- Notify Students and Parents of Discipline Plan verbally and in writing at the beginning of each school year and upon enrolling at the school during the school year
- Implement Plan
- Monitor Plan / Evaluate Plan
- Revise/Update Plan
Discipline Committee should consist of:
- Faculty Representation
- Parent Representation
- Community Representation
